Greetings, my friends! How are you today? We are alive despite the circumstances of life—God be praised!
I just allow the Spirit of God to guide me and give them something, and so forth. They were so humble and kind.
[0:26]
You know, sometimes you expect people in their humble way—especially with what you hear about Ghanaians—you’d think they would take advantage of me. But no, they didn’t. Even when I go back, they’re still there. I can always visit their place, and I’m not treated like a stranger—it feels like family now.
[1:02]
That trip was truly a blessing. And I see them as family. Every time I go back, I meet more people. I met other Jamaicans, people who live here but travel back and forth.
[1:31]
I’ll give you a joke. We were going to Cape Coast, where the dungeons are—the place where they kept the slaves. On our way, even though they speak English, you have to speak slowly so they can understand.
While we were traveling, we were taking some pictures, and there were some fishermen working on their boats. The men started telling us off for taking pictures. They spoke in their local language, but I understood what was happening. I said to the driver, “You see them telling you off, right? You should stop taking pictures.” The driver laughed and said, “Boy, you catch on fast!” And I said, “Boy, God is good!”
[3:03]
Can you imagine? Traveling for about three hours in a vehicle—three men and me, the only woman. I have to give God thanks! I have to give Him the glory!
[3:28]
I bless God for the people He has placed in my life—the ones who have encouraged me through the good times, the rough times, and even through this trip to Ghana. It has been an exciting journey. It had challenges, yes, but nothing that would deter me from going again.
[4:05]
Now, about Ghana… From what people say about Africa, trust me—it exceeded my expectations! It was far beyond what I imagined.
I visited rural places, villages, and even Cape Coast, where the fishermen come in with their catch. It reminded me of back in the day, seeing children running free, playing, just being happy.
[5:22]
I also visited a cabbage farm in Kumasi, owned by a church elder. Sadly, he passed away recently—a lovely, lovely brother. But his farm was acres upon acres of lush greenery.
In remote areas, I noticed people eat only herbs, and their skin is so clean! Their faces glow! And I thought, “My goodness, look at the wonders of God.”
[6:40]
Walking through the markets was another experience—people laughing, chatting, sometimes quarreling like how pigs fight! But it felt like paradise.
[7:06]
Honestly, Ghana felt like home. The similarities with Jamaica are incredible—the culture, the people, everything.
[7:28]
I give God thanks for those who made this journey possible. It was a supernatural connection!
[7:51]
Even my husband, who is very set in his ways, embraced Ghana as if he had been there for years. From the moment we touched down, he connected with the land.
[9:03]
I made sure to visit different places and explore as much as I could. And through it all, God has been good.
[9:24]
Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Be blessed!
