Greetings, my friends!
How are you today? Despite life's circumstances, we are alive—God be praised! I am giving thanks, honor, and glory to the Almighty. His mercies have carried me on an unplanned trip, a short visit to Ghana. I won't share details of this journey just yet—that will come out in my series—but this evening, I simply want to glorify the King of Kings.
God has a way of speaking to me and to others. Today, as I reflected, I decided to play a recording from my church. It was from an event where the choir sang, and as I meditated on it, I realized how much of a blessing it still is.
There are moments in life when we all go through struggles. In those times, we need a word—a word of encouragement, a word of strength, a word to lift us up, a word that brings healing. During that church event, I was facing challenges. I was thinking about my struggles and disappointments instead of looking to God, even though I kept saying, "Lord, I trust You. Lord, I believe You."
But in His divine timing, God allowed the choir to sing a song that lifted my spirit. Today, as I reflected on that moment, my thoughts went back to this scripture:
Jeremiah 20:9 (KJV)
"Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay."
That fire Jeremiah spoke about—it’s real. When fire touches you, you cannot keep still. You must act, just as when the presence of God fills your soul. His spirit ignites a response within us. You might shout, sing, or even dance—not just in the flesh, but in the Spirit.
The Power of Praise: David’s Example
Even King David experienced this. In 2 Samuel 6:14-16 (KJV), it is written:
"And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet."
David’s joy was so overwhelming that he leaped and danced before the Lord. Yet, his own wife, Michal (Saul’s daughter), despised him in her heart. Sometimes, people—even fellow believers—won't understand the way we express our worship. But when the Spirit of God moves, we must praise Him.
There are moments when His Spirit calls for silence, and there are times when praises come forth like a trumpet blast! Because the Lord is God, and He is worthy of all our worship.
Be Blessed!
As I play this song, I pray it blesses you as it has blessed me. May it bring you comfort, strength, and encouragement. Look to the Lamb of God, for He is in control of every situation. Surrender your burdens to Him.
In Jesus' Name, Amen!
